About Lucksall Caravan Park

Bordered on the one side by the River Wye and the other by our own 90 acre (Approx) woodland reserve in beautiful Herefordshire. Canoeing, Walking, Fishing prefect base for exploring this beautiful part of Herefordshire.

It is ideally situated for guests who prefer a natural park giving space, freedom, peace and quiet.

This is a must visit location for the serious river angler, looking for some quality barbel and chub fishing. There are most other river species present, including some very large pike. Its one of our summer trip destinations when in the West country. It can get very busy so early booking is certainly a wise choice. Certainly if you wanted to start on the river at the beginning of the season, that would need booking very early.

On our last vist, which unfortunately was before the season opened, the huge numbers of fish seen cruising in the upper layers really caught my breath, there were hundreds of big chub slowly cruising in the warm surface layers. Certainly a location to visit throughout the season long.

Children are welcome at Lucksall, we do ask that they are supervised at all times. Due to our rural location we endeavour to preserve the peaceful country atmosphere of the park and therefore do not have a swimming pool, amusements, clubhouse or children’s entertainment.

Well behaved dogs are also welcome, dogs MUST be kept on a short lead at all times whilst on the Park. We have a walk area (leaded) on Park and they can be walked un-leaded in the woodland just opposite, we ask that all dog owners be respectful of others and clean up after their dogs.

Spend your day relaxing on the banks of The River Wye, renowned by many fisherman as some of the best unspoilt river fishing in the country. Species including Barbel, Pike, Trout, Carp, Perch, Chub, Dace, Roach, and Salmon. The River Wye has a contrasting water course from fast running hard bottom riverbed to slow deep silted sections, making it ideal for targeting particular species or for varied fishing techniques/abilities.

Barbel fishing is one of the most popular types of fishing on the River Wye, fishing on both sides of the Wye at Lucksall, with some Barbel weighing into double figures.

Lucksall also has a good reputation for Pike fishing, with fish being caught into the 30+ lbs shows that there are some great specimens to be caught.

Fishing on the River Wye is truly magnificent not only for the range of fish inhabiting its waters but the possibility to immerse into the rugged nature of the River Wye and observe the fantastic range of wildlife from king fishers and otters to the curlews and swans.

The Coarse Fishing season starts from 16th June through until the 14th March.

Permits for the opposite bank are available from Reception starting from only £5 per day per rod and our on-site shop stocks a selection of fishing tackle and dried bait i.e. hooks, pellets, ground bait, weights, etc.

You must have a rod license which can be obtained from either the Post office or Environment Agency Website. Rules must be observed at all times.
