I have been building and developing web sites since 2001 and now develop almost solely on some of the very popular CMS based website systems, Joomla (starting in dear old J1.0 through to the current version), and WordPress (since 2005 when it was just blog software, up to the current 5.+ version) and some small content management systems that integrate into new or existing basic html websites. These are particularly useful where clients who have an existing website with a relatively small number of pages and wish to take control of the day to day content management (editing content, adding images etc), but don’t need the full blown database driven CMS’s like Joomla and WordPress.

WordPress now offers greater degrees of scale where many pages are may be required and the inclusion of a shopping cart for ecommerce is a requirement of a small or medium sized business that wishes to sell online.
